Read, ANNOTATE and answer the comprehension questions on pages 1-9 of the midterm review (practice Regents Exam)
Read and complete questions on page 19.
Read and ANNOTATE pages 20-21 and answer the comprehension questions related to the task on pages 22-23.
Write a 2-3 paragraph text analysis response based on the task outlined on page 19 of your midterm review packet.
Study your review packets, quote analysis, character charts and all short answer questions.
Prepare for Act 1 quiz
-Review reading comprehension questions
-Review character chart
-Review important quotations
Your quarterly assessment for English will be administered on 10/30 and 10/31. We will review and prepare in class prior to the date of your exam. The exam will include Regents tasks and focus on reading comprehension and passage analysis.
Please complete your poster by Tuesday and be prepared to display it for our gallery walk.
This assignment is in lieu of the summer reading project and will be worth 100 points total.
Read THREE current event articles and do the following:
1. Identify and define three to five unfamiliar vocabulary terms
2. Write a thorough summary of each article (5-7 sentences)
3. Write your opinion of the topic presented (minimum of 4 sentences)
4. Type each synopsis and "Share" it with me on google docs
5. Create a poster that represents your favorite article and topic, and present the most pertinent information

Figurative Language and Literary Elements
All groups should have "Shared" their PowerPoint Presentations and speeches with me. If you have not already done so, please do before tomorrow morning. Your speech should be a formal, typed in 12 inch Times New Roman font. You may double space it. It should be written according to the guidelines provided in class. Your presentation should last between 5-7 minutes. While other students are presenting, you will pay careful attention and have the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions at the end. You must also complete a rubric, including comments and suggestions for each group that presents.
Throughout this unit, we will read, analyze, annotate and discuss a variety of short stories. Students will be required to think critically to examine different texts.
